Caucasian Carpet Series: “The Touch” or “Eagle Kazak”. Last year I was experimenting with bringing some structure to my abstract expressionism. Having been fascinated with Caucasian Carpets for years, I employed the symmetry and palette of the Caucasian designs without having to tie 300-600 knots per square inch as my ancestors did.
By chance are you old enough to remember reading the Sunday newspaper color comics back during the 1950’s? There were different strips of course, but the back ground color washes were the same with a lot of black. Here is my interpretation. Enjoy the evolution of the frames as you read from left to right.
No. 2319. Film Strip Series: “Sunday Color Comic Strips 1950’s. Original mixed acrylic on 36″ x 60″ x 1.5” premium stretched canvas.
THE AFRO ANGULAR SUITE

I am thrilled that Angelo Bundini aka Scrote has chosen my visual art to represent his new musical vibe! If in the L.A. area, check this performance of a wonderful consortium of musicians creating their art. The event is posted on Facebook: Afro Angular Suite – An avant garde musical performance
From the Film Strip Series, here is the album “Geometrics”, painted in homage to Mondrian, Miro, Agam and the Bauhaus Movement. The medium is acrylic paint applied by roller, sponge brush and forks on stretched canvas. The 16″ x 16″ x 0.66″ pieces are available at $225 each including shipping within the USA. These are bright and yet sophisticated. For hanging I’ve been pairing them or using them as focal points for smaller wall areas. And of course, I enjoy seeing them rotated for variety in my viewing. When you see the originals, they are more robust than as shown in these photos. You do not need to frame these, however they would look smashing in black frames.
“Colorful Dialogs” is one of my latest favorite works. Its commanding presence is fun, colorful and brings hours of viewing pleasure. And for more experiences, rotate the piece. The fortunate patron who acquires this spectacular art piece has additional value with 4 art experiences in one. Available at $4,750. Free shipping in the U.S. is included.
“Balboa Park San Diego Zoo” for the Panamanian Centennial Celebration, 2015.
This diptych is on two 36″ x 60″ canvas panels and is currently available for sale as a set for $9,750 + shipping.
I wanted to create a work worthy of tribute to the 2015 Balboa Park Centennial. The beauty of this piece is in its flexibility to form 16 similar but different paintings: four versions of the paintings are 3 ft high x 10 ft long; four diptychs are 10 ft high x 3′ wide; fours pairs are 6 ft high x 5 ft wide, and; four are 5 ft high x 6 ft long.
Watch this video on how that works so wonderfully to add value for the beholder.
