I’m commenting without reading your description first, just to see if I’m far off from what you have to say or not.
This one incites the same feelings I used to have when, as an excited teenager, I’d be getting ready to go to a Goth club, putting on subculture clothes and crazy makeup- all of the feelings of newness of experiences- feeling confident and good about doing something the kids from my neighborhood weren’t getting to do.
This piece exemplifies why one should never ask of contemporary art “What does it mean?” Rather, “How does it make me feel?” My own emotional response to this particular work is quite simply “Exuberant joy.”
